Iolanthe, a Lib-Dem Member of Parliament, had been banished from the party for marrying a heterosexual Tory MP. The Lib-Dem Leader had sent her to lifelong exile in a climate change Quango in Brussels where she lives on a canal among the frogs. She was forbidden to ever see her husband again. Her son, Steven, has grown up as a farmer, half lib-Dem, half Tory. Steven loves Phyllis, who is a Ward of the Tory Prime Minister, but she is unaware of his mixed political origin.
So starts a 21st century political tussle between the Lib-Dems and Tories over Gay Marriage!
Exciting newly envisioned story and songs set to the much loved original Gilbert and Sullivan music
